On August 17, 1991 the first Internet link (9600 bps) was established between Poland (Faculty of Physics, Warsaw University) and the world (Computer Centre, Copenhagen University).

In August 1989 the first Polish electronic newspaper Donosy has been created at our Faculty.

In August 1993 the first Polish WWW server started its operation and for many years this server hosted the first Poland Home Page.

In December 1994 a group of physicists from our Faculty initiated the program Internet for Schools.
